A magistrate's court at Nyinahin has remanded a 35-year-old farmer for allegedly beating Moro Kusaasi, 28, a farm labourer leading to his death.
Osei Kwabena, whose plea was not taken, would re-appear on September 21.
Police Chief Inspector David Nkrumah told the court presided over by Mr. Augustine Essah that the deceased was a farm labourer at Domiabra, a cottage near Amansu in the Atwima-Mponua District of Ashanti.
Prosecution said about three weeks ago, Osei accused Kusaasi of stealing his bunch of plantain and demanded GH¢60 as cost of the food item from the deceased.
Chief Inspector Nkrumah said the deceased could not pay the money and on September 4, Osei attacked Kusaasi and assaulted him leading to his death.
