The 4th edition of the annual GTBank soccer championship 2018 kicked off in style at the El-Wak stadium Thursday.
The two-day tournament dubbed the Principal cup aims at unearthing the best football talents from schools in Greater Accra and has the backing of the Ghana Educations service.
The General manager of Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana Limited Mr Lekan Sanusi in his opening ceremony speech said the development of sports in the country is one of his outfit's many priorities.
He added that their desire is to help young men and women use their skills to highest possible level.
The tweaked format this year from Zonals to inter-schools saw PRESEC of Teshie sweeping off challenges from two feisty opponents to book a final berth.
They defeated Ada Senior High 4-3 on penalties following a goalless draw after regulation time in the Knockout phase before handing Ngleshie Amanfro 1-0 defeat in the semis to set up a final clash with Tema Technical Institute.
Tema Technical Institute, on the other hand, progressed to the final in style and are highly fancied to clinch the ultimate Friday. They beat Kwabenya Community SHS 2-0 in the first round and then secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Chemu in the semis.
The final will take place tomorrow at the El-Wak stadium.
