The cause of death of 20-yeaer-old Georgina Kombat, a second year Senior High School, was not known at the time of filing this report, but the circumstances leading to her death suggest that she was killed and dumped close to the school.
Questions are being asked as to how and when she left Kpikpira and ended up dead at Tempane.
However, reports reaching Daily Guide from the school indicates that fear has gripped students and some teachers of the Senior High School following the bizarre death of the student.
The corpse of the deceased was found lying about a 100 meters away from the girls' hostel of Tempane Senior High School around 3:00a.m on Wednesday, March 21, 2012.
In an interview with journalists, Georgina Kombat's father said his daughter left school to come for money from him at Kpikpira, a Bimoba Community under the Gam-Tempane district, over the weekend, but had to stay home until the evening of Tuesday March 20, when he was able to raise the amount she needed.
According to him, he asked Georgina to leave for school on Wednesday morning since it was too late and dangerous for her to embark on a 5-mile journey at that time.
That Tuesday evening, Georgina got a call from a number saved as Daniel, however when her brother answered the caller hung up.
When the deceased was later handed her phone, she left home to collect a book from one Bismark.
Soon after she left, a female friend of hers, Efia, came asking of her, but was told she had left to collect a book from Bismark.
Goergina's family did not hear from her again that night, until her body was found on Wednesday, March 21 on the school compound, about 100 meters from the girls' hostel.
The police will have a tough time identifying the caller, because her phone was not found at the scene where her body was found.
The District Police Commander for Garu-Tempane, Superintendent Richard Ebo Appiah, told Daily Guide that the corpse had been sent to the regional hospital in Bolgatanga for autopsy.
He said there was no sign of a struggle at the scene, and neither did the police see any marks on the body to indicate a struggle with someone or some people before her death.
He noted that police had advised staff and students of Tempane Senior High School to calm down as they waited for the autopsy report to conclude their investigation.
Meanwhile, the police will be patrolling the area around the school to complement the work of the school's internal security.
