The Striptease Trail at Tsitsikamma Lodge is deep in the heart of one of South Africa’s most beautiful and ancient forests. Wander at will, alone or with a loved one, along a necklace of crystal clear rock pools, shedding your inhibitions and your clothes as you meander through forest ferns.
Deep in the heart of one of South Africa’s most ancient and beautiful indigenous forests is one of the Garden Route's best-kept secrets – the Striptease Trail.
You'll find the Striptease Trail at the multi-award winning Tsitsikamma Lodge, beside the legendary Tsitsikamma Forest, where 32 free-standing log cabins, each with its own private garden, spa bath, deck and braai (barbeque) area tucked away amidst lush foliage, big trees, birdsong and perfect peace.
Although you could try bird watching, horse riding, tubing or even an adrenalin-fuelled tree top canopy tour, why not cool off, strip off and venture along the hidden Striptease Trail.
You are assured of perfect privacy because you book your trail at the lodge and then it is reserved exclusively for you and whomsoever you are going to get down to the bare essentials with.
Then away you go. Maybe you should start off fully dressed and just shed a few items of clothing as you go? Or maybe you want to skinny dip from the start, among forest ferns and watched only by colourful birds and inquisitive butterflies?
There are 11 pools along the 5km trail, which usually takes about 4 hours to complete. But the length of time will depend on just what you get up to en route!
The crystal clear rock pools all have names. You'll start your back to nature ramble at the Pebble pool. Don't stay there too long because the inviting Honeymoon pool is waiting for you, followed by the pretty waterfalls of the Cataract pool.
Then it’s on to the Bikini pool, the Topless pool, the Bottomless pool (not named for the deep water), the Halfway pool, the Boobs pool, the Fantasy pool and, finally, the rather rudely named Kaalgat pool (kaalgat is the Afrikaans slang equivalent of 'bare-arsed').
