Ursula Maier Foundation, an NGO made up of Doctors, public health workers, physiotherapists and social workers has been launched in Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The event was aimed at creating awareness of the causes of autism and cerebral palsy.
The Techiman-based foundation has been in existence since 2010 and has assisted children living with HIV-AIDS and Down Syndrome.
In the past seven years, the Foundation has been able to reach out to over 100 children who are suffering from these conditions and are being treated inhumanely in society.
The Ursula Maier Foundation has helped affected children as well as their parents to be able to compete and live normal lives in the society.
It has earmarked six plots of lands for the construction of a training centre for the affected children as well as their parents.
The success of the organization and its monthly meetings has been dependent entirely on the financial and prudent support of its members.
In an interview with Joy News at the organisation's end of year party, the president of the Foundation, Raymond Adu Boahen stated that the foundation is in dire need of any support.
He said they would welcome all donations either in cash or kind to help complement the efforts of the Foundation.
Mr Adu-Boahen believes organisations, as well as philanthropists, helping with the needed logistics, will facilitate their movements across the communities.
He called on society to stop giving mythical attributions to autism and cerebral palsy and seek medical help.
He deplored how parents of such children are tagged by the society which forces some to "go to the extent of sending their children to the forests and other places to engage in horrifying acts".
