Mr Ofosu Asamoah, Deputy Eastern Regional Minister has inaugurated the Kade Government Hospital.
Mr Asamoah who is the Member of Parliament for Kade, said the event was a dream realised for the past 40 years.
He called for proper care and maintenance of the buildings and equipment at the hospital to prolong their life span.
To the staff, Mr Asamoah said the facility was a big challenge to them and was optimistic they would live up to expectation, take better care of the equipment, patients and adopt better attitude to work.
Mr Asamoah advised the people to ensure their surroundings were kept clean to avoid diseases such as malaria.
He later presented 64 plastic chairs and 64 Golden Jubilee T-shirts and caps to the hospital and staff.
Dr Ebenezer Appiah-Denkyira, Eastern Regional Director of Health Service, pledged the commitment of the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service to provide the needed assistance for the hospital.
He urged the people to continue with their assistance to the hospital because they had already contributed towards the building of a ward, rehabilitated and refurbished the maternity ward and donated equipment to the hospital.
Dr Appiah-Denkyira said it was government's policy to provide every electoral area a nurse who would ensure 100 per cent immunization of children in the area, visit and advise pregnant women to use health facilities for ante- natal care and delivery.
He said an area with population of 15,000 would be provided with a clinic and a midwife, population of 40,000 with a Medical Assistant and population of 100,000 with a hospital.
Dr Appiah-Denkyira called on communities in the area to negotiate with officials of Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) to organize community transport systems to convey pregnant women to health facilities for delivery at reduced fares.
Dr Patrick Amo-Mensah, Kwaebibirem District Director of Health Service, appealed to the assembly to provide accommodation for staff of the hospital, especially medical practitioners who had expressed the desire to work at the hospital but could not be accommodated.
