The police in Sunyani are investigating the alleged stabbing of a farmer by a seamstress and her apprentices at Chiraa near Sunyani
over a misunderstanding between them.
The farmer, Madam Christiana Kyeremaah, popularly called Naana, who is on admission at the Chiraa health centre, suffered two deep cuts on her face and the left arm.
Mrs. Dora Opoku, medical assistant in charge of the centre told newsmen that the victim was responding to treatment.
Chief Inspector Samuel Sampana of the Chiraa Police confirmed the incident to newsmen when contacted, but declined to give details.
Madam Kyeremaah told newsmen at her bedside that she was suddenly attacked and stabbed with scissors by the seamstress, Lydia Frimpomaa and her apprentices whilst on her way home from the market last Thursday.
She said her persistent refusal to allow the brother of Lydia’s husband to flirt with her daughter, Anita, a 22 year old SSS graduate, was the main cause for the attack and this was corroborated by her husband, Yaw Asante Krobea, a poultry farmer.
Lydia was not available when newsmen visited her salon.
