A middle-aged unemployed man has committed suicide at Kwamo, near Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.
The deceased, who has been identified only as Ahmed, hanged himself in his bedroom at about 12:30 p.m. on Monday.
A co-tenant, Abena Abrafi, told Nhyira News the deceased was treated for mental disorder and declared fit by doctors about two years ago.
She says the man who lived alone looked normal until yesterday’s tragedy.
“He went out this morning to buy food around 11:20am, and l received a phone call from my younger sister later in the day that Ahmed in hanging in his room” she added.
The body has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for autopsy as police begin investigation.
Ahmed left behind two children who are said to be studying at the university.
