The Board of Governors of Ghana Oil Company, GOIL has denied booting out the Acting Managing Director,MD of the company Kojo Bonsu for non performance.
There have been media reports that Kojo Bonsu has been axed because he failed to live up to expectation and also tried to stall the appointment of a substantive MD for the company.
But a source close to the Board tells JOYBUSINESS, Mr. Bonsu, a board member willingly stepped aside after the expiration of his contract on January 31.
According to the source, the appointment of a substantive MD has only delayed because of a pending court case against one David Dzanie previously appointed by the board to take over beginning this month. The source adds that board even wanted Mr. Bonsu to stay on a little longer because he performed creditably during his 6-month reign.
Mr Bonsu was appointed Acting MD of GOIL last August after Yaw Agyeman Duah retired from the company. The board has however in the interim appointed Chris Ackummey, a board member to act in that position until the substantive head is appointed.
