The persistent LPG shortages are expected to ease considerably by the end of July. This is because the construction of the country’s second biggest LPG depot is expected to be completed by that time. The shortages have been blamed mainly on the lack of adequate storage facilities in the country.
The new 14 million dollar state-of-the-art facility being constructed by Fuel Trade will therefore complement the depot of the Tema Oil Refinery and boost the country’s LPG storage capacity to enhance LPG supply in the country.
The facility which is about 80 percent complete has a capacity of about 8,500 cubic meters. The same company is said to also be building a 34 million dollar gasoline and gas oil storage tanks at the 10 acre site.
