Amponsah Efah Pharmaceutical Company is targeting the West African market and beyond as it moves to increase production capacity.
The local drugs manufacturer is therefore expanding infrastructure and equipment to meet increasing local and international demand.
Marketing Manager, Dzifa Ametsimey, says work is about 75 percent done, and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
He says with this development the future holds good for the company in the face of growing foreign competition.
“We are also building capacity to be able to build capacity to be able to match the competition… At the moment we are supplying drugs to only the Ghanaian market. We hope by the time we complete [the infrastructure development], we’ll have enough capacity to supply drugs to the whole of [the] West African sub-region”, he stated.
Mr. Ametsimey spoke to Luv Biz Report during an interaction between management of the company and their partners from Multimedia Group, Kumasi, on how to strengthen business relationship.
He is however worried about the sudden fall in the value of the cedi against major trading currencies.
He hopes government would intervene to stabilize the situation.
