Dr. Dolley Akakpo Sulley, President of Homeopathy Medical Association, has called on the Ministry of Health to encourage alternative medicine alongside orthodox practice in the country's health delivery service.
He said orthodox medical practitioners should be given the opportunity to study Homeopathy and other alternative practices to dispel the negative perception that Homeopathy practitioners were herbalists.
Dr Sulley was speaking at an emergency meeting of the Homeopathy Medical Association in Accra.
He urged members of the Association to stick to the use of homeopathy medications to render effective and efficient service to the public.
Dr. Alex Essuman, General Secretary of the Association, appealed to the members to pay their dues and other subscriptions promptly.
He said a team would be going round to inspect homeopathy clinics to offer suggestions to improve their services and flush out quacks.
Dr. Essuman said it had come to the notice of the Association that some herbalists using other forms of medication addition to herbal treatment were calling themselves homeopaths and warned that they would be dealt with when caught.
