The Airtel Frenzy promo closed its second of ten weeks with an eleven-member Accra-based group called Asiwome winning the second weekly grand prize of GHC10,000.
Two female members of the group also won two of the 11 Samsung Galaxy Tabs given away at the end of week two.
Eleven other individuals won Samsung Galaxy S II handsets each, whiles nine groups won cash prizes of GHC2,500. Similar prizes were won in week one.
Senior Marketing Manager of Airtel Ghana, Jesse Amo Agyepong told Adom News within the two weeks, Airtel has given away 22 Galaxy tabs and 22 Galaxy S II phones, plus some GHC60,000 in cash prizes.
He said the total value of prizes earmarked for the 10 weeks is one million Ghana cedis, adding that the ultimate prize would be a cash prize of GHC50,000.
Airtel Frenzy encourages Airtel customers to form groups and win prizes based on how much they spend on Airtel.
Spending gives groups points, which are used to determine winners at the end of every week.
Mr. Agyepong said Airtel subscribers have formed 10,000 groups since the promo begun, adding that some groups are made up of as many as 100 people whiles others are as low as four members.
He explained that individuals who decide to be a group of one are also allowed, but since prizes are based on spending, such individuals would have to spend a lot to remain competitive.
Mr. Agyapong said Airtel was impressed with the regional spread of the winnings, as the first group to have won the weekly grand prize came from Takoradi in the Western Region and the second from Accra; and the individual prizes have also spread across the country.
The second week grand prize winners, Asiwome, told Adom News they will donate their money to charity.
