Asamoah Gyan arrived to a thunderous reception in Accra on Thursday afternoon.
The injured Al Ain striker was met on arrival by officials from his foundation and a host of fans who brought the VIP Lounge of the Kotoka International Airport to a stand still.
Accompanied by his brother, Baffour, Asamoah expressed gratitude for the warm reception received.
“I am very happy to be back home and I really want to thank all of you for coming,” Gyan said on arrival.
The on loan Sunderland striker will join the rest of his national teammates to travel to South Africa on a pre-Nations Cup training tour on Friday.
