A man believed to be in his early 70s and a father of three on Wednesday committed suicide by hanging in Tema Community One site one.
The man, whose name was only given as Tetteh hanged himself with a drying rope at about 0830 hours.
A friend of the deceased who went to visit him saw him hanging with a plastic chair beside him and raised an alarm.
Neighbours of the deceased said that Tetteh was earlier seen at a drinking spot taking in local gin (akpeteshi).
A lady claimed she saw him holding a rope some few minutes before his death and said "I even greeted him with the slogan 'one will die' and he responded 'one will get hurt'.
Other on lookers said Tetteh for some time now has been saying he would kill himself.
