Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe defend new Hearts board

A member of the Council of Patrons of Accra Hearts of Oak and Former Ghana Football Association Chairman Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has defended the formation of 11 member Board of Directors to replace the existing 22 member Board which was headed by Emmanuel Martey Commodore-Mensah . In a release signed by outgoing Board Chairman Mr. Commodore-Mensah copied to the press on Wednesday, stated that the appointment of each of the members is subject to confirmation by the shareholders at the first Annual General Meeting tentatively scheduled for March 2012. It said the new Board comprises experienced businessmen and professionals who share a commitment to the best interests of the Phobian fraternity. The members include Togbe Afede XIV, Emmanuel Martey Commodore-Mensah, Apiigy Afenu, Frank Nelson Nwokolo, Alhassan Andani and Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe. The rest are Professor Kofi Kumado, Justice Ivy Heward-Mills, David Lamptey, Chairman of the National Chapters Committee (NCC) and the Chief Executive Officer. Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports morning Show on Thursday, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe said the appointment of the new Board of Directors was done in consultation with the Clubs Council of Patrons and the majority share holders of the club. He said the Board was formed to serve the interest of all the organs of the club and that is why there is a slot for the supporters, and the Council of Patrons. Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe defended his dual post of serving as a member of the Council of Patrons and as a Board member saying there is nothing wrong with that.
