The eight Ghanaian teachers who have been stranded in China are not likely to return home soon unless Ghana's embassy goes to their aid. The teachers are expected to pay over one thousand US dollars each for their visas and other expenses. But the teachers say they are broke. Last week Embassy officials asked an agent of the travel and tour company Litina in China to immediately prepare exit visas for them. The agent complied but said the teachers would have to pay for the return tickets themselves. The teachers say the agent has promised to make their passports available this week, but they don't have money to do the travel arrangements. It will be recalled that Litina Travel and Tours in Accra recruited the teachers to teach English Language to the Chinese, but the promised jobs did not materialize after they arrived in China some four months ago.
