An aspiring parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Mion constituency of the northern region is accusing the national executive of trying to impose a candidate on the constituency.
Speaking to Joy News, the aspiring MP, Mohammed Hashiru said the party conducted interviews for parliamentary aspirants in the entire northern region but left out aspirants for the Mion seat.
He said he suspects the party executive left out Mion because it wants to impose the party's candidate for the 2004 election, Samuel Kofi on the constituency.
The aggrieved aspirant is accusing the national leadership of the party of looking on as Samuel Kofi whips up ethnic sentiments in the constituency to his advantage.
