Four of the eight police officers who brutalized a night club owner and a staff of Luv FM in Kumasi last week could face service enquiry.
The two, Chief Executive of Genesis Night Club, Frank Asante and Edward Kpegah of Luv FM were assaulted by the police officers who had gone to the club to arrest a suspect.
Mr. Asante said the police did not take kindly to his insistence that it was improper for them to enter the club with guns, because at that time the club was filled to capacity with reveling teenagers, who have recently completed Senior Secondary School and were having a 'Leavers' Night'.
While Mr. Asante argued with the officers, Mr. Kpegah tried to intervene and he was also brutalized and locked up in police cells.
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Frank Adu Poku has ordered an investigation into the incident and said he will not shield any wrong doing by his officers.
After listening to the parties at a meeting at the regional headquarters, DCOP Adu Poku said the police officers exhibited unprofessional conduct and their action is unjustified.
Meanwhile, preliminary investigations into the matter have cleared four officers leaving four others to face the service enquiry.
