Some Hearts of Oak supporters say they have been angered by the club’s response to claims by the squad that won the CAF Champions league in the year 2000 that bonuses promised them have not been paid.
Emmanuel Osei Kufuor, Eben Dida and Edmund Copson have been leading pleas by the most successful squad in the club’s history for a 20,000 dollar each bonus promised the players to be redeemed, after eleven years of disappointment.
Ashford Tettey Oku who has served Hearts of Oak in various administrative capacities from the early 90’s gave patchy responses to questions on the JOY Sports Track regarding the claims by the ex-players.
Chapter O member Awudu Bonzi told JOY Sports that, Ashford Tettey Oku’s response is a sign of disrespect to the club’s fans.
According to him, the supporters have every right to know whether the money was paid or not.
“The boys worked for it and they have to be paid, ” said Bonzi.
