The Police at Kpando are holding four suspects in connection with the cultivation of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp at Gbi-Akplamafu, near Alavanyo-Abenyinase in the Hohoe District of the Volta Region.
It took police personnel from Kpando and Ho about five hours to uproot the weeds on five farms on Thursday.
Mr. William Akpesey, Superintendent of Police in charge of Kpando District disclosed these to GNA at Ho on Thursday.
He said the police acted upon a tip off but he declined to give the names of the suspects since investigations to assist in the arrest of accomplices were ongoing.
Mr. Akpesey said the police had recently waged war on Indian hemp dealers in the area and persons arrested were being prosecuted.
