Government has been urged to accord indigenous businesses the needed assistance to enable them grow their businesses into giant industries.
This can enable businesses in the country to compete favorably with the developed countries, Mr. Samuel Adjei Boateng, Managing Director of Anointed Electrical Engineering Services Limited -- “one of the best electro-mechanical industry in the country” -- has said.
Also, he said this in a way can create an effective link to support government’s effort to create jobs for the youth.
Speaking at opening of the company’s branch at Ahwitieso in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality, he noted that “it is very important that we embrace the contributions of indigenous Ghanaian businesses and patronise their products and services in order for them to grow and provide job opportunities on their own.”
He said the company is establishing a generator assembly plant in Ghana, on which work has already started and is progressing steadily.
Through this, he said, the company will offer training to the youth who are interested in acquiring and developing technical skills in Electro-mechanical engineering.
“This is intended to create an effective link to support government’s effort to create jobs for the youth,” he said.
Mr. Boateng explained that the company started a sole proprietorship in 2002 and was later incorporated as a limited liability company eight years ago, with the aim of filling the vacuum in the provision of alternative power supply in the country.
“The decision to incorporate the company to undertake this assignment was largely informed by an overriding need to establish an indigenous Ghanaian company to play a formidable role in overall national development, especially the energy sector due to the critical role it plays in the development of the country,” he added.
He pointed out that the company has succeeded in providing job opportunities to some Ghanaian youth who have graduated from the country’s polytechnics and tertiary institutions.
Mr. Albert Arthur, the General Manager of Anointed Electrical, said the company is uniquely and strategically positioned to help both corporate institutions and individuals to have regular standby power generators devoid of any interruptions.
“The opening of this branch is the second in the region and fourth in the country, and we are ready to offer our services to all,” he said.
He explained that the company is into installation, routine and regular maintenance, repairs, and overhauling of engines as well as selling all kinds of generators -- and spare parts -- which range between 10 kilovolts and 2,250 kilovolts.
