GOIL, the largest and longest-existing indigenous oil marketing company in Ghana has held a three-day brainstorming “Marketing Summit” for its Marketing Team at the Holy Trinity SPA, Sogakope in the Volta Region.
Fifty Marketing Executives & Engineers of the company from the four Zonal Offices participated in the workshop which began on Thursday, November 3 through to Saturday, November 5, 2011.
External resource persons for the workshop, aimed at motivating and sensitizing the executives for the demanding days ahead in the oil marketing sector were Dr. Joyce Aryee, former CEO of Chamber of Mines and Mr. Eben Asante, Marketing Manager of MTN.
Mr. Asante spoke on the topic: “Big Men Don’t Sell, Building A Sales-Oriented Organization For Sustainable Growth”, while Dr. Joyce Aryee lectured on “Motivational Strategies In Organization”.
Mr. Charles Darko, Fuels Marketing Manager, tasked the Zonal Marketing teams to come up with strategies that will ensure excellent route to market penetration of GOIL’s high quality products.
“Despite the heightened competition, GOIL will always prevail because our products are unique and of high quality”, Mr. Darko said.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Kojo Bonsu, the Ag. Managing Director of GOIL urged the Marketing team to step up the game due to growing competition in the oil Industry.
At the end of the summit the Team expressed their delight, and pledged to put in the efforts required to make GOIL the oil marketing company of choice in Ghana in the coming year.
