Leone Stars' friendly matches against Ghana's Black Stars scheduled for November 12th have been postponed sierraleonefootball.com understands.
According to a reliable source from the Sierra Leone Football Association(SLFA) secretariat the postponement was due to financial difficulties on the part of the Fifa match agents group responsible for organising the two matches.
The group were unable to raise the money to pre-finance the two matches, this included the purchasing of players and officials air tickets and match fees for the teams.
The source also stated that the matches will now take place on the next Fifa dates in December 2011.
But there are doubts as to whether the friendly will ever materialise because a sober-minded footballing nation like Ghana must be disappointed with such arrangements and are used to planning properly for it's national football team, Black Stars, who are one of the best teams in Africa. The Ghana Football Association had invited players who featured in the last World Cup in South Africa.
It is the third time within 3 months proposed friendly matches for Leone Stars are not taking place. The first was against Liberia in August, secondly, against Guinea's Syli Nationale and thirdly against Ghana's Black Stars and Guadeloupe respectively.
Sierra Leone football fans are not happy with this latest development and have expressed their disappointment to sierraleonefootball.com.
