BEIGE Capital, a non-banking finance house, has established a learning and development centre to train and improve the quality of the company’s workforce.
Known as the BEIGE Academy, it was set up to provide two types of training of staff – General Skills Development Program and Technical Skills Development Program.
While the former would focus on enabling staff to internalize the BEIGE brand, the latter is intended to sharpen the skills needed by the staff to deliver in their key result areas.
Managing Director of BEIGE Capital, Mike Nyinaku stated during a launch of the learning centre in Accra that: “The Academy is an institution of learning and development for staff of The BEIGE Group of Companies. It was formed out of our inspiration and belief that our human resource [is] our most valuable assets. Through them, we serve our clients who make our business grow.”
He also congratulated the over fifty (50) staff who graduated from the Branch Management, Credit Delivery, Customer Service and Sales training programs.
Graduating staff were certified and some honoured for their exceptional performance in the assessment following the training programs. The board honoured each of the staff who excelled with an investment certificate worth GHS1000.
In a speech, Professor Stephen Adei, former Rector of GIMPA who was the special guest, commended the company for the initiative and admonished staff to “learn how to continuously build their capacities.”
He also advised management “not to promote [the staff] on the basis of long-service only but based on one’s capacity and ability to develop.”
