President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra on Wednesday for Owando, Republic of Congo, to participate in the 47th independence anniversary celebration of that country.
A statement signed by Mr Andrew Awuni, Press Secretary to the President and Presidential Spokesman, said the visit was at the invitation of President Dennis Sassou N'guesso.
It said Mr Akwasi Osei Adjei, Minister of Foreign Affairs and senior government officials accompanied the President.
At the Kotoka International Airport to see off the President were Ministers of State; Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. J.B. Danquah and other government officials.
President Kufuor is expected back home on Thursday.
