The Energy Minister has reminded some Ghanaians who are enjoying some electricity in recent times that, they should not begin celebrations yet because the load shedding exercise is not completely over.
Honourable Joseph Kofi Addah, has said that the extra power that some residents are enjoying is no indication that the energy crisis is over yet.
Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday where he announced the commencement of work on the Bui Hydro Electric Project, the Minister said the government is working hard to solve the problem once and for all.
According Hon. Addah, the project will start at the beginning of August but will be preceded with an official ground breaking ceremony on August 24th.
He disclosed that the Chinese government is providing $562m while the Ghanaian government is providing $60m counterpart funding for the project.
The energy crisis he warned, has only eased, but not entirely resolved.
He however, was quick to add that the government is making efforts to increase the capacity of the national grid to produce more power.
