A man believed to be in his late 20s has committed suicide by hanging himself in a tomato farm near Saaki-Kpone Police Barrier in the Tema municipality, according to a police statement.
The statement, signed by Police Chief Inspector Yaw Nketia-Yeboah, Tema Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, stated that the body of the man, "dark in complexion", was found hanging on a tree branch on August 1, 2007 at about 0920 hours.
The deceased was wearing a short-sleeved tie-and-dye shirt over a light blue jeans trousers and wearing bathroom slippers.
The statement said the deceased's identity had not yet been established.
The body has been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary, awaiting identification.
