Cristiano Ronaldo has been hit with a five-game ban which means the Real Madrid star will miss the second leg of the Spanish Supercup against Barcelona and the first four games of the Liga season.
Ronaldo was sent off in the first leg, a 3-1 win over Barcelona, on Sunday night as he picked up a second yellow card for diving.
He reacted by pushing referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea, who included the incident in his report. The referee wrote:
" Once the red card was shown, the player pushed me slightly in a sign of disagreement."
