Ghanaians woke up today in a state of shock as the heavy downpour that occurred throughout the night caused many damages which worth billions of cedis as well as loss of many lives in Accra.
Because this urgent situation requires prudent measures the Northners and Zongoes Concerned Youth Association of Ghana has mobilize its members throughout the major affected areas in Accra to assist affected Ghanaians in cleaning chocked gutters, flooded homes and market places as well as schools and places in order to save human lives and properties.
We wish to call on Civil Society Organizations, Non Governmental Organizations, as well as organized bodies to help the security agencies including NADMO in cleaning chocked gutters/drainages as well as implementing alternative strategies that would lead to a better or normal situation.
In as much as the nation is in a total state of shock we urge all Ghanaians not to panic but use this as a lesson to keep our country clean in order to limit or prevent natural disasters like these from turning into extreme situation. We also plead with each and everyone to stay away from any activity that is likely to worsen the situation.
