The Northern Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Clifford Braimah has said because of the marvelous performance of the party in government, only a miracle could bring the National Democratic Party (NDC) back to power.
He said the Government had performed so credibly and delivered on its campaign promises such as the construction of roads, building of schools, hospitals, markets and the provision of potable water.
Mr. Braimah said this at a rally of the NPP at Damongo on Friday during which the constituency youth wing of the party was inaugurated.
The 19-member youth wing had Mr. Majeed Issahaku as Secretary, Mr. Nantomah Alhassan, Youth Organiser, Madam Yussif Assia, Women's Organiser and Miss Attah Mankir Financial Secretary.
Mr. Braimah said the Government had introduced programmes including Capitation Grant and School Feeding Programme, which had enabled majority of the people to send their children to school and the National Health Insurance Scheme to improve the health care delivery in the country.
Mr. Braimah said in view of such enviable record of the NPP, the NDC was at its wits end to convince Ghanaians to vote for the party and was resorting to telling lies about the NPP.
He told the people to ask the opposition parties to tell them what they could offer as alternative to the policies of the NPP and stop harping on what the NPP has not done.
Mr. Alex Seidu Sofo, Member of Parliament for Damongo/ Daboya constituency said because the NPP had the welfare of women and children at heart, it created a ministry responsible for women and children.
He said the large number of candidates aspiring to become the NPP's flagbearer for the 2008 Elections showed that the party had the men who were capable of managing the affairs of the country.
