Preview: Bologna vs. Lazio on Joy Sports and Adom TV

Live Italian Serie A action continues on Joy Sports and Adom-TV on Multi-TV this evening when Lazio, fresh off their derby win over Roma, take on Bologna, themselves still basking in the euphoria of their first win since March! After delivering Bologna’s first win of the season on his debut, new Rossoblu boss Stefano Pioli will hope to catch Lazio in the throes of a post-derby hangover. Sacked by Palermo in pre-season and only offered the Bologna job when Davide Ballardini turned it down, Pioli took charge of the Felsinei for the first time at Novara on Sunday. As luck would have it Novara were the opponents he had been preparing Palermo to face before Maurizio Zamparini’s axe fell, and that revision paid off at the Stadio Silvio Piola when his new team picked off their hosts on the counter attack, emerging as 2-0 victors despite spending long spells under pressure and having just 43 per cent possession. As important as it was to break their duck, Bologna still have work to do to recover from the dire start made under Pioli’s predecessor Pierpaolo Bisoli. They remain in the relegation zone and losing to Lazio could mean ending the weekend bottom of the League. Bologna had been waiting since March for a Serie A win, but Lazio had been waiting since April 2009 for a Rome derby win. It finally arrived on Sunday night when Miroslav Klose broke 10 man Roma’s resistance in the 93rd minute at the Stadio Olimpico. The wild celebrations the players, Edy Reja and Olimpia the eagle indulged in under the Curva Nord showed how much ending Roma’s dominance meant to the club as a whole and to Reja in particular. He had lost all four of his derbies as Lazio Coach and was the butt of Francesco Totti’s jokes during the during the build up. The veteran strategist is hoping that Sunday’s result will have won over the fans whose jeers, abuse and death threats brought him to the brink of resignation last month. “After this win, I hope that we can calm the atmosphere and make peace with certain sections of the fanbase. Let us look ahead, for we are a point behind the Serie A leaders.” In team news, Bologna playmaker Alessandro Diamanti is still struggling with the injury he picked up in Novara. Lazio’s squad is fit and ready for the journey to Emilia Romagna, all though there are concerns over an injury to star striker Miroslav Klose. Lazio hope to have in-form striker Miroslav Klose available again for tomorrow's trip to lowly Bologna. The prolific Germany international missed Thursday's Europa League 1-1 draw at FC Zurich with a muscular injury and is fighting against the clock to make the match.Klose's absence would be a blow for coach Edy Reja with the former Bayern Munich star having been pivotal for Lazio this season. Coverage of Bologna vs. Lazio begins at 6:15pm on Joy Sports and Adom TV on Multi-TV.
