Our attention has been drawn to an article published on Ghana web on Tuesday 4 October 2011 by a group called The Forum for Probity and Accountability, which claimed the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketi, a during a recent official visit to UK is said to have completed the purchase of a £370,000 five bedroom house at Perivale in West London. The said article purported to have been written by Alex K. Bediako and one Philip Mensah Dzakpasu did not give the address of the property and the estate agent through whom the purchase of the said property took place for interested readers to verify the accuracy of their story. We are aware that certain individuals and groups have made it their habit to target credible NDC officials who travel abroad and to accuse them of malfeasance and corruption in order to throw mud at them to further their diabolic political agenda. But we wish to let these crooked minded people know that their diabolic plans and story fabrications will not stick or find favour with the discerning Ghanaian public back at home or in the Diaspora. The NDC UK & Ireland Chapter wishes to state that the allegations against the Party's General Secretary are false and are calculated to tarnish his hard won reputation. It is also very disturbing to note that the writer of the article in question chose to use the name of a member of the Chapter's Public Relations sub-committee - Alex K. Bediako - to sign off as one of the authors of the said article in order to tarnish his reputation. It is only cowards and weak minded persons who (do not have the ability to focus on relevant issues when it comes to topical discussions) would indulge themselves in such shameful acts. Alex will not be moved or intimidated and would continue to defend the course of the NDC at all levels. We know the identity of the person responsible for this warp minded article and whose name we would patiently hold back from publishing for now. The General Secretary’s itinerary whilst in the UK - The GS arrived in the UK on Tuesday 27th September to join other members of the National Executive to attend the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool which ended on the 29 September. On the evening of September 30, the GS and his NEC colleagues attended the Chapter's Youth Forum in Barking, East London where they interacted with the Youth and a cross section of the Chapter members. On Saturday October 1, GS gave a radio interview at Focus and met with the Chapter's Executives in the evening. On Sunday October 2, GS gave radio interviews at VOAR, GFM and a television interview at Walthamstow studios. On Monday October 3, GS and his colleagues attended a scheduled meeting at Labour Party HQ at Westminster. GS granted telephone interviews to Rainbow and Joyfm. On October 4, GS and his colleagues left the UK back to Ghana. Alex Seshie-Vanderpuije Public Relations Officer NDC UK & Ireland Chapter
