Senior Minister, Hon. Yaw Osafo Marfo, is the latest to show support to Asante Kotoko fraternity as he visited Coach Steven Polack at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Kumasi.
The former Sports Minister was there to see how the Kotoko coach was faring days after technical team members and players of the club were involved in a tragic accident on Wednesday which claimed the life of deputy equipment officer and left scores injured.
All players were treated and discharged later on Thursday with the exception of midfielder, Ollennu Ashitey who was admitted for close observation.
Ollennu was admitted alongside Steven Polack and the bus driver, Joseph Nana Berkye who had surgeries late Thursday evening. Asantekotokosc.com authoritatively reports that Ollennu Ashitey and the Nana Berkye, just like Coach Steven Polack, are very doing well.
It’s worth northing that, all other victims of the accident were recalled on Saturday for thorough re-examination by the medical team at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The medics gave positive reports after examining the victims despite indicating that, most of them were still in pain. The injured players and officials were as a result given week’s rest before further examination in a week’s time. The accident, sadly claimed the life of Deputy Equipment Officer, Thomas Obeng Asare.
