India under-17 coach, Luis Norton de Matos has labelled Ghana as one of the best teams representing the continent in the upcoming FIFA U-17 championship.

The Black Starlets have been paired alongside the Indians as well as Colombia and USA for the juvenile tournament to be played in October.

Ghana will be making their first appearance in 10 years after several failed attempts. The 2007 squad placed 4th in South Korea with the core of the squad moving on to win the 2009  U-20 World Cup.

Despite missing out on other editions, the Indian boss was full of praise for Ghana.

“Colombia is very strong in South America. Ghana is a tradition, always a strong team. Ghana and Mali are the two best African teams in this tournament.”

“We’re working for a victory. In football there are no impossible missions. Our opponents are very strong with experience. We are going to fight every moment, for the results.” said Norton.

Starlets are poised for a third World Cup Glory after winning the title in 1991 and 1995.
