Former Ghana international, Yaw Preko, has tipped Asamoah Gyan to be an instant hit in Turkey after the completion of his move to Super Lig side Kayserispor.
Gyan was a free agent after the expiration of his contract with Chinese side Shanghai SIPG and settled on the Turkish side after contemplating many offers.
The move will be the fourth European league Gyan will be playing after stints in the Serie A, Premier League and Ligue 1.
And the former Hearts coach Yaw Preko, expects him to excel just as he did in the other leagues.
"Turkey is a place where people worship football hence it's a blessing for every footballer to play in that country," Preko told Happy FM.
"It's a country where black players are cherished, and I can say on authority that the six years I spent there were the best period during my football career but the only challenge is with their journalist because just like Ghana, they criticize a lot."
The Super Lig has been home to many Ghana internationals, both past and present with the captain set to join the train.
"It's great that Gyan has moved there because I believe he can raise the flag of Ghana high like we did in our days; (Augustine) Arhinful, (Richard) Kingson, (Sam) Johnson and (Stephen) Appiah,” Preko added.
"I believe he has what it takes to become an instant hit. It’s better late than never and I wish him good luck.”
The deal is believed to be worth €1.5 million euros annually.
