Accra Hearts of Oak CEO, Fred Crentsil believes his low profile recruits in the off-season can win laurels for the club this season.
The Phobians have registered 16 new signings for the season with Burkina Faso international left-back Soulama Ahmed as major recruit.
The new recruits include Kofi Ayare from Arsenals, Yusif Alhassan from Mine Stars, Toric Umar and Tofic from Guan United, Seth Oduro Acheampong from New Edubiase, Prince Attakora Gyimah from BA Stars, Thomas Abbey from Windy Professionals, Gabriel Armah from Deportivo and Dominic Edo Bukudah and Raymond Dakey who are all free agents.
The rest are Ernest Ackon from Metro Stars, Abdul Ganiyu from Red Bull Acadamy, John Krassey from Metro, Theophilus Mensah from Nania FC, Isaac Ofori from All Stars and Soulama Ahmed from Etoile Filante.
The former African champions will turn 100 years in two months time and need silverware this year to mark their centenary celebrations.
Chief Executive Fred Crentsil told JOY Sports, “These signings are also young players who are dedicated and want to prove a point that Hearts can do well this year. I wouldn’t stick my neck out and say we will win the league title but let the people come to the stadium and let them judge for themselves.”
Hearts of Oak will open their Glo Premier League campaign against Berekum Arsenal on October 9 at the Robert Mensah Park in Cape Coast.
