Former IBF welterweight champion, Joshua Clottey is eager to make a return to the ring in December this year despite an ongoing legal dispute with his manager Vinny Scolpino.
The managerial contract between the two ended in March this year but the Italian-American manager claims he has the first option for an extension due to a provision in the expired contract.
Clottey told JOY Sports, “I am a bit disturbed about what the manager is doing. I really want a fight because I am sick of the way the fans have been calling me and going to my facebook page, asking me when I am getting back to the ring.”
He added, “I am working on something with my promoter and my lawyer. We have written a letter to them that I am no longer in a contract with my manager because my five year contract with him has expired. So, I am waiting to find out what their response would be. If it is good then maybe I would fight again on December 3.”
Joshua Clottey has been out of the ring for 17 months because of an injury he suffered ahead of a botched 10 round middleweight contest against Calvin Green last March.
