Organizers of the 25th Accra Milo Marathon are confident of achieving the set target of 6,500 runners for the 42.2-Kilomtere race on Tuesday.
An impressive number of 3500 runners have already joined the list of participants for the marathon which comes on 21 September.
Representative of the Accra Milo Marathon, Elloeny Amande told JOY Sports, “For the last two decades plus that this marathon has been organized, the experience is that you get a mad rush the last two days for people who leave things late to register in the marathon.”
He added, “We are almost going to be reaching the target of 6,500 runners with the rate at which people are registering.”
The stakes are higher this year with winners in both male and female divisions pocketing GH¢10,000, GH¢7,000 for the first runner-up and GH¢5,000 for the second runner-up.
