Members of Parliamentary Select Committee on Local Government and Rural Development have resolved the differences between Mr Kwame Asamoah Boateng, Amansie Central District Chief Executive and Mr Emmanuel Gyamfi, Member of Parliament for Odotobri constituency.
The committee on a week’s monitoring to some districts in the region resolved the differences behind closed doors after a meeting with Heads of Departments, Assembly Members and opinion leaders in the district at Jacobu.
Mr Isaac Edumadze, Chairman of the Committee told Ghana News Agency that they had agreed to work together towards the district’s development.
He said some mechanisms had been instituted to monitor relations between them.
Mr Edumadze who is also MP for Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam urged stakeholders in development to co-operate and work to promote good governance and accelerated socio-economic development in the district.
He said the visit was to monitor activities of assemblies and implementation of laws on local governance and advice the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment on their effectiveness.
Members of the committee also visited Amansie West District and interacted with Mr Ben Kwakye Adeefe, District Chief Executive, the staff, opinion leaders and inspected some projects.
These included the rehabilitated police barracks, police station and the district court.
