In my latter days at the university of Ghana, I remember watching a documentary titled "the secret" which touched on how the mind could be used to attract anything one desires in his life. I was engrossed in the theory taught by the video until Christ called me.
The ideas in the video were a compilation of various religious doctrines and philosophies. No matter how true the theory might be, it doesn't matter to me anymore from where I stand at the moment. I am only making reference to it to prove the point that even those who are naked to the truth have a shadow of the truth.
If we believe, that Jesus Christ is the truth as said in John 14:6, then whoever is not in Christ, no matter how intelligent or sensible his opinions and ideas may be, they are nothing but a shadow of the truth. The clearest picture and understanding of the universe is in the Spirit of the believer. But the common disease affecting many of our contemporary Christian brothers is the unconsciousness of who they are in Christ Jesus. And that is even more disastrous than unbelief.
So much knowledge is made available to those in Christ, but the problem is lack of seriousness to diligently study and meditate on the Word. There is a language for the New creation man and it is called the "faith language."
Talking about the power of the mind and the authority of our words, Christians are supposed to know better. Jesus Christ knew his words were not ordinary.
John 6:63
"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life."
The consciousness, that your words are spirit and life is a great mental condition. It positions you to live your words as you decree them. If that consciousness is there, we are compelled to speak the right way. God created everything with words. He called things that were not into being.
Romans 4:17
"(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;"
God called things which do not exist as though they were. And we are born of God. We are created in the image of the most high. The same Spirit which manifested the words of God into being lives in us today. We are the custodian of this faith. No man can please God without faith. If we desire anything from God's word, we must just speak them into existence. All that God wills for us is His word and His word can be life to us if we will believe and speak it.
Believers must avoid communications like: "Things are hard. The economy is not good for business at all. The government is not good; they must do something about our situation."
I consider this, the common language of the common man on the street. Talking about the common man, I mean the man without Christ; those of the world. Those whose hope rests in the economy and the decisions of governance. Those who believe they can't eat until one man thinks for them. How pitiful that is.
We are not born to complain, we are born to create. We do not fall into the domain of the world, neither do we by any means intersect with the circles of the world. We have our own world and it is called the world of faith. We are not governed by presidents and governors of nations, we have one governor and His name is "the word of God (Revelations 19:13)".
As a believer, your mind must be full of positive thoughts. And your mouth should be rich with positive utterances. Negative thoughts should be consciously dealt with. The battle ground is the mind and if you are able to defeat the mind and think positively, you will speak positively.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,"
Rebuke and condemn every unwanted thought. Stray missiles from the pits of hell intended to cripple you. Subdue negative imaginations. Always try and see the good in everything and ignore bad reports of people or anything.
Philippians 4:8
"Meditate on These Things
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things."
Do not mediate on bad reports, whether in your family, business place or ministry. Don't even let them cross your mind. What you meditate on becomes your true result or nature. Don't give life to bad things. When you meditate on them, you will speak them out and they will be become living entities.
The easiest way to have control on your mind and speak the right things is meditating on the word of God day and night. When it becomes a habit, it surely will become your life.
Joshua 1:8
"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."
The only way to prosper and have good success is to meditate and speak the word. Then, the life of the word will be made relevant in you.
If you find yourself in a church where the focus is on witches and demons, leave. If you find yourself in a church where prayers are focused on combating evil always, please leave. Your way of prayer changes when you think and speak the right way. Then, your words will be full of thanksgiving and praise. You issue decrees and command things in your favour.
Think Right and Speak Right because you are born to reign in every situation and in every condition.
