Ghana’s Black Meteors' hope of qualifying for the semi-finals of the ongoing 10th All Africa Games hangs by a thread after losing 0-1 to South Africa Wednesday afternoon.
A second-half goal from a corner kick did all the damage to Ghana in a game that appeared heading for a deadlock.
By this defeat, Coach Kwasi Appiah and his boys must win against host Mozambique on Sunday to keep their hopes of advancing and possibly annexing the trophy alive.
With the victory, South Africa have qualified for the knockout stages of the competition. They had earlier beaten host Mozambique 3-1 in their first group game.
