A 27-year-old has been arrested by police for stabbing his colleague in Keta has been remanded into police custody after he appeared in court Tuesday.
Kofi Abadewor, who is one of two persons arrested over the incident, is on a month-long remand as the court awaits an autopsy report from the police.
He has been charged with two counts of murder and for conspiring to commit crime, over the stabbing of 24-year-old Selassie Hialegbe, after a fight at a funeral last Saturday.
Joy News’ Benjamin Tetteh reports that the accused appeared in court looking remorseful.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Keta, Sylvester Tornyeavah met the youth of the area to caution them against any acts of lawlessness.
He told Joy News he was not happy how some youth conduct themselves during funeral.
“When one of them is dead and they have to bury, they always resort to lawlessness, by way of riding motorbikes recklessly, drinking excessively and sometimes resort to quarreling among themselves. So there is the need for us to stem this unruly behaviour."
