Narh unperturbed by fight cancellations

Ghanaian world title prospect, Raymond Narh is unperturbed by recent misfortunes concerning his career progression. An initially scheduled WBC international bout between Narh and the champion, Prawet Singwancha was cancelled some weeks back after an initial postponement. The problems that have rendered this bout a mirage have been mainly promotional issues. Speaking to JOY Sports' Nathaniel Attoh from his New York base, Narh said “I have the heart of a lion. If it were someone else the person would have been very disturbed. But I have a lot of hope because when you have life you have hope.” The 33-year-old, who is a Commonwealth gold medalist, is largely considered the next world champion for Ghana due to his fighting style and experience gathered at both the amateur and professional levels. Many see the Ghanaian boxer’s loss in his last bout to Mike Alvarado as a big setback in his quest to become a world champion. Narh surprisingly retired in the third round of the scheduled 12 round bout against Alvarado to lose an opportunity to annex the WBC Continental Americas light welterweight title on May 7. Raymond Narh's management team is working around the clock to ensure that he gets a fight before the end of the year to put his title ambitions on course. The loss has also resulted in his drop from the top 15 in the WBC rankings. Narh is currently 17th in the light welterweight division. Raymond Narh currently has a record of 25 wins and two losses.
