Ghanaian heptathlete Margaret Simpson has made a bright start to her campaign at the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Daegu by winning the heats of the heptathlon 100 metre race Monday morning.
The 30-year-old clocked a season’s best of 13.43 seconds. She finished second in the high jump with 1.80 metres in the second pool of athletes. She will compete in the shot putt and the 200 metres later today.
Margaret Simpson won a bronze medal at the 2005 World Championship in Helsinki, Finland.
