Accra Representative of Berekum Chelsea Nana Oduro Sarfo believes Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak will not be able to win the premier league for the next four seasons.
According to him, these two glamorous clubs in Ghana have lost their power over the perceived smaller clubs and are now struggling to even make it to the top four any time the season comes to an end.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak have been among Ghana and Africa's preeminent clubs since their founding and have been very successful since the formation of a Ghanaian football league in 1956, virtually sharing the league spoils exclusively between them until recent years.
Hearts have collected 20 league titles to their credit while their rivals Asante Kotoko have been champions 21 times.
But Oduro Sarfo told Asempa Sports these two clubs have been reduced to ordinary to the extent that they are irrelevant in all competitions in Ghana.
He added that, their absence in Ghana football will not cause any havoc since they are living on past glories and have nothing new to offer Ghana football.
Hearts and Kotoko have served notice they may not participate in the annual pre-season fiesta, Top 4, now upgraded to Top 8 by the Ghana League Clubs Association.
Oduro Sarfo believes if Kotoko and Hearts decide not to participate in the tournament, the organizers should find suitable replacements to play.
