The Professional League Board Chairman Mr. Abra Appiah has admitted that the PLB had it wrong with the final league table of the 2010/2011 Glo premier league.
The criteria for selecting clubs to participate in the proposed Top 8 tourney have become a thorny issue in the past week. The bone of contention has been with which club qualifies ahead of the other with respect to the head to head rule.
However Mr. Abra Appiah who spoke on Asempa Fm’s Sports Morning Show said it will be wrong for the organizers to use the current league table to determine which club to play in the Top 8.
When asked what his outfit will do if the organizers use the current positions of the clubs on the table to select clubs to play in the competition he said “we will tell the clubs that they do not qualify because the current standings on the table are wrong”.
Meanwhile Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club have withdrawn from the proposed Top 8 tourney and information reaching Asempa sports Desk indicates that there are more to follow.
