Staff of COCOBOD have been advised to maintain good health through regular exercise especially as the Board positions itself to achieve the one million metric tonnes of cocoa production by 2012/2013.
Mr. Alexander A. Appleton, the Director of Human Resource of Ghana Cocoa Board, gave this advice when members of the COCOBOD Fitness and Wellness Centre, as part of the centre’s activities to promote good health through regular exercises, joined their colleagues in Kumasi to embark on a fitness walk.
The fitness walk, christened “The Good Health and wealth of Ghana starts with me” started from the regional office (Jubilee House) through the Danyame, Ahodwo Round-about, Nhyiaeso and Adum all suburbs of Kumasi and ended at Jubilee House for aerobics.
Mr. Appleton commended the participants for their attendance and advised them to take their exercises seriously to cut down medical cost by the Board.
Dr. Ebo Essel, a Health fitness therapist and the Chief Executive Officer of Moms Health and Fitness club Accra, gave a talk on hypertension its causes, effects and prevention.
