Uefa has partially accepted an appeal from Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho in relation to the five-game ban he was handed in April.
Mourinho challenged his Champions League suspension after appearing in front of Uefa's appeal panel on Friday in a hearing which lasted around six hours before he left without saying anything prior to the verdict being announced.
And now Uefa has confirmed his appeal and the decision from the disciplinary body has been partially upheld.
A statement on Uefa's official website reads: "After hearing the parties and looking at various pieces of evidence, the appeals body decided to modify the sanction.
"The five-match ban, with the fifth game suspended for a probationary period of three years, is changed to a five-match ban, with the fourth and fifth fixtures suspended for a probationary period of three years. The €50,000 fine imposed on Mourinho stays."
Uefa also confirmed the €20,000 sanction imposed on Real Madrid in relation to conduct from some of their fans during the game against Barcelona on April 27.
The governing body said any appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) would have to be lodged within 10 days of their latest ruling.
The Portuguese coach was initially punished by Uefa back in April when he was handed a lengthy ban and fine after calling into question the integrity of the referee when his side lost to Barcelona in the first-leg of the semi-finals of the competition. The Real Madrid tactican has already served one match of his suspension, missing the second-leg of the same semi-final, meaning that potentially he could be forced to sit out just two more European games.
At the time Uefa's disciplinary body ruled that Mourinho made "inappropriate" comments.
