Inadequate broad-based communication at work places has been identified as the cause of unsuccessful completion of strategy objectives of many companies.
As a result, companies spent huge sums of money annually on strategy development, which in the end did not yield the needed results, Elikem Nutifafa Kuenyehia, a corporate lawyer and management consultant, said on Friday.
He was speaking at a Management Forum in Accra on the topic: "Uncommon Practices - Strategy that Works" organised by the British Council.
Mr. Kuenyehia said strategy development of all companies should involve all workers irrespective of their status in the establishment adding that there was the need for collective cooperation from each department.
He said global statistics indicated that about 63 per cent of companies were unable to achieve their strategy objectives due to the sidelining of all stakeholders, adding that the situation in Ghana could be worse.
Mr. Kuenyehia said companies should maintain efficient and effective Human Resource Departments to amplify some of the good ideas and provide feedback reports to achieve overall performance.
He said most companies paid lip service to customer satisfaction and it was time to "walk the talk" to accelerate growth.
Mr. Kuenyehia urged companies to place the consumer at the centre their establishments, engage supportive board members and take decisions based on customer insights.
